OEM Circuit Board and Development Kit available - see below.
Note - Infrared sensors cannot be used to detect Hydrogen gas.

Standard series infrared gas sensors provide a 'raw' signal output which needs to be be fed into external processing electronics and software. This may either be provided by the equipment manufacturer or by use of a purpose-designed OEM board available from Dynament Ltd.

They are are intended for use either in non-certified gas detection equipment or in hazardous area certified equipment where the equipment manufacturer provides the necessary protection by means of a separately certified explosion protected housing.

The sensors are contained in a stainless steel housing fitted with a single protective stainless steel mesh. This ensures a minimum response time to gas in applications where the sensor is to be fitted within a separately certified explosion protected housing protected by a sintered flame arrestor such as a sinter.

The construction of the non-certified types provide a small cost saving compared with the certified types.

The sensors can be used to measure Hydrocarbon gases, Carbon Dioxide or Nitrous Oxide, depending upon the sensor type, within a wide range of commercial and industrial applications.

The standard measurement ranges are as follows:-

Hydrocarbon - LEL & 0-100% Volume.
Carbon Dioxide - 0-500ppm up to 0-5% Volume & 0-100% Volume.
Nitrous Oxide - 0-1000ppm up to 0-1% Volume.

Although the 0-100% Volume Hydrocarbon type will also measure LEL values it will not provide the necessary resolution for explosion protection applications. The standard calibration gas for Hydrocarbon is Methane (CH4) unless otherwise requested

If you require advice or have a requirement for a particular measurement range not shown below then please contact us and we will be please to assist you with your application.

Hydrocarbon Types

The Hydrocarbon sensor order codes commence with MSH-HC/NC (for 0-100% LEL Hydrocarbons) or MSH-HHC/NC (for 0-100% Volume Hydrocarbons) followed by other options such as a filter (see below) and/or an electrically isolated case (suffix I).

There are two filter options available for this sensor:-

F - Self adhesive 14 micron PTFE filter for water ingress protection.
P - Removeable 45 micron plastic dust filter insert - P.
